The Journal

Stories From the Journey.

Some stories take time to tell.

The TRAIN Coffee Farms Journal will share the people, places, ideas, relationships and discoveries shaping our journey as the story unfolds.

TRAIN Coffee Farms is being built around people, places, ideas, relationships, and discoveries that deserve more than a headline or a social media post.

The Journal will become the place where we share those stories as the journey unfolds, from farms and growing regions around the world to the scientists, Veterans, business leaders, corporate partners, consumers, and others helping shape what comes next.

Some stories will be new. Others began years ago and help explain why we see coffee, storytelling, service, and impact the way we do today. We believe both matter.

We are not ready to tell every story yet. But we will.

What You Will Find Here

Three Ways to Follow What Is Ahead.

People and places. The road we are traveling. The ideas that may influence what coffee becomes next.

01

From the Origin

Every coffee begins somewhere, and every origin has a story that cannot be understood simply by reading the name of a country on a bag. From the Origin will introduce the farmers, families, communities, growing regions, traditions, challenges, and generations of knowledge behind the coffee the world enjoys every day. These stories will not treat farmers as background characters in someone else’s brand. They are where the story begins.

02

From the Road

Building something meaningful rarely happens in a straight line. From the Road will document the TRAIN journey as it happens: the partnerships we form, people who come aboard, milestones reached, lessons learned, and the unexpected turns that become part of building something new. Sometimes a chapter begins with a farm visit, a handshake, or someone simply saying, “I think I can help.” Those moments matter too.

03

What’s Next

Coffee is an ancient crop living in a rapidly changing world. Science, agriculture, technology, consumer expectations, and global supply chains are changing. What’s Next will explore the ideas, discoveries, technologies, and questions that may influence coffee’s next chapter. Sometimes the most important ideas arrive when two worlds that rarely speak to one another finally meet.

Long before TRAIN Coffee Farms took its present form, Thirty Five Dollars explored an idea that still influences how we think today: sometimes the distance between people is not measured in miles. It is measured by how little we know about one another.

The story began with a simple contrast. What can thirty-five dollars mean to one person, and what can that same thirty-five dollars mean to someone living thousands of miles away?

Rather than explain that difference through statistics, the story tried to make the viewer see it, feel it, and remember the human being behind the number.

Years later, that same philosophy can be found throughout TRAIN Coffee Farms. The farmer at the beginning of the coffee supply chain should not be an anonymous figure hidden behind a commodity price. There is a person there. A family. A farm. A risk being taken. A story worth knowing.

Thirty Five Dollars reminds us why stories matter.

The First Stories Are Coming

The Story Is Already Moving.

There is much happening behind the scenes at TRAIN Coffee Farms. Some of it can be shared soon. Some of it will have to wait. And some stories deserve to be told only after the work behind them is real enough to speak for itself.

So the Journal will grow the same way TRAIN is growing: deliberately, honestly, and one meaningful chapter at a time. When there is something worth telling, we will tell it.

From the Origin.   From the Road.   What’s Next.   From the Archive.
